Step by Step complete process to create a Free PayPal Account for Indian Bloggers or Freelancers
Once you started blogging and gaining some momentum in your blogging career, you will find that you need to purchase several high-end premium themes or pro versions of some highly-rated plugins or you may need to purchase several professional services. As most of these service providers are from overseas countries, you need a credit or debit card which allows the international transaction if you want to avail of these services from India. Similarly, if you want to receive money online from Overseas countries through your affiliate income or any other advertising services, you need an account where anyone can transfer money without any intercountry procedural hassles.
The Debits cards from most Indian Banks will not give you access to international transactions, only if you have any credit card, you can avail of these facilities. Also doing any online international transactions with some unknown service providers expose your card details and make you vulnerable to several online frauds and phishing in the future.
Getting a credit card from any Private or PSU Banks is a long cumbersome process and these banks also won’t give you a credit card if you do not have any regular income source. The only solution to getting a credit card is to make a Fixed Deposit and Bank will provide you a certain percentage of credit limit according to your Fixed Deposit. Also, you won’t receive money from your affiliate income, as the overseas companies will not directly credit money to your Indian Bank Account, because there are so many procedural hassles in intercountry money transactions.
The only solution to these problems is to get a PayPal Account with your individual name or business name. You can create a PayPal Account online free of cost except for the transaction fee.
Now you can create PayPal Account for Indian bloggers or freelancers completely free.
What is PayPal Account?
PayPal is one of the most trusted and oldest American electronic money transfer company which has a worldwide presence. The company initially started its operations as an alternative means of cheque or money order. But its innovative approach makes a revolution in worldwide virtual payment service. Recently, the company starts its operations in India. Any individual or freelancer can sign up for a free PayPal account from India and start receiving or sending money online instantly. For the freelancer or bloggers, all you need to do is to create a Paypal.me (Your name) account and start receiving overseas payment directly to your personal or business PayPal account. The money can be withdrawn to your personal Bank Account later or keep it as it is for the future online transaction.

How to receive money through PayPal in a personal PayPal Account?
PayPal is the easiest and convenient way of sending and receiving money between an intercountry individual or business entity. The only thing you need is an email id that you have used at the time of sign up of your PayPal Account. Your email id is your Paypal account where you will receive money. Once, you receive money, it will show in your Paypal Account Dashboard. You can transfer the money to your linked personal Bank Account whenever you wish.
The other option is to create a PayPal.me/username link. You can easily create your own PayPal.me/username link from the PayPal account dashboard or Paypal App and share it with your customer for payment.
Step by Step Process to create the PayPal Account for Indian Bloggers & Freelancers
A PayPal Business account is identical to a Premiere account except that a business name, rather than an individual name, appears as the account name wherever it’s shown. Both are free except for transaction fees. Here, I will discuss How to create PayPal Account for Indian Bloggers or Freelancers
Step 1
Go to the PayPal.com website or you can visit from here.
Step 2
After signing up, you will find three option, you have to select the last option, i.e. “For Freelancer”
Step 3
After selecting the “For Freelancer”option, you will need to provide your Email ID (Which will be your PayPal Account ) and you have created your PayPal Password also.
Step 4
After completing the above steps, you have to create your business type on the next page.
This Part is a bit tricky, you have to select the appropriate option properly. On the first option, you have to select your Business Type,
On the second option, you have to select the Business Category, for bloggers or Freelancers, it will be Services-Other.
On the third part will be Business Subcategory, for bloggers, it will be Advertising.
After that, you have to choose the Purpose Code, in my case, it was code no- P1007- Advertising and Market Research. Select Appropriate code on that field.
You can later change your purpose code by going to Profile >Profile and setting>Financial Information Section.
Then you have to put your PAN Card Number. The next part is the most important. You have to set a name that will appear on the credit card statements of your customer i.e to whom you have given your service.
Note: If your customer paid for their purchase using a bank transfer, your business name will not appear on their bank statement. Instead, your customer will see PAYPALINST XFER. To verify the purchase your customer would need to log in to PayPal and look for the transaction in their History.
As per Paypal Blog
You can set a name to appear on credit card statements, but it will be prefixed with “PAYPAL *”. For example, charges made by my company, Awio Web Services LLC, appear as “PAYPAL *AWIO”. You also get to set the “extended” name that only some banks show in their interfaces, and usually includes your phone number in case someone needs to contact you about the charge.
For more details, you can check here
To change this later, go to Profile > Website Payment Preferences > Payment Receiving Preferences and you have two boxes to fill in.. “Credit Card Statement Name” and “Extended Credit Card Statement Name“.
In my case, it was set as PP DEEP.
The last option is Business URL, put your blog URL here.
Step 5:
The next page will be your Business Owner Contact Information, put your relevant details, and click on continue.
Step 6:
After the successful completion of your provided information, the Business Setup page will open.
For accepting international payment direct to your Indian Bank Account, you just have to complete the first two options on the Business Setup Page, ie to verify your email address and Link your Bank Account.
After verifying your email address, Link your Bank account.
After linking your Bank Account, PayPal will send two small amounts in your bank account within 3-5 business days.
After 2 to 3 days you will receive two small amounts in your provided Bank account. You have to put these amounts to confirm your Bank account number to be linked with PayPal.
That’s it, you have created your PayPal Account for Business. Now, you can receive international payment directly to your PayPal account, which you can transfer to your Bank Account any time you wish.
You can find your Marchant ID in the profile>Business information section.
For making international payments from your PayPal account, you need to add Debit or Credit cards. You can easily add Debit or Credit cards from the Profile section.
For accepting payments from local vendors in INR, you have to provide complete KYC documents, i.e PAN card and a copy of any Address Proof. You can upload a copy of PAN card and Adress Proof from Settings> My Business setup>Selling Tools>Upload your identity documents for verification to start accepting local payments.
Note: You can not link Debits cards from most of the Indian Public Sector Banks as these Banks Debits cards not support the international transaction. For linking your Debit card to the Paypal account, you need cards from Private Banks. Debit cards from most of the Indian Private Banks support international transactions.
